I aman artist from Edinburgh, Scotland. The focus of my art practice is still life oil paintings. I love combining flowers or seedheads with fabric. I try to keep my compositions simple and have been told that my work has a far Eastern influence, which I recognise and is a style that I greatly admire. I am drawn to rich vibrant colours, textures and design patterns that I try to weave into in my paintings.

My background as a design lecturer in graphic design at Napier University, Edinburgh and Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen combined two aspects of my career as a teacher which I love: exploring creativity and developing students' understanding of the subject.

My own training pursued an interest in the design process through a Masters Degree from Glasgow School of Art and a Ph.D from Gray's School of Art, both while working. I was able to incorporate this knowledge into the course structure so that my students could benefit from my research in this area.

I now work entirely on my own practice, developing my own skills and techniques as an artist. My website can be found at

I would be delighted to receive any feedback and interest in my work.

I guess once a student, always a student😉
